2 illegal drug sellers nabbed in La Union

TWO suspected illegal drugs sellers have been arrested by joint operatives from the National Bureau of Investigation, Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency, and Philippine National Police during entrapment operation in San Fernando City, La Union recently.

NBI Officer-In-Charge Eric B. Distor identified the arrested suspects as Ronaldo Mamaril aka “Nonong” and Ricky Mamarik aka “Bobsie.”

The operation stemmed from an intelligence report that the suspects were allegedly involved in the illegal trade of petroleum products and illegal drugs in Barangay Poro, San Fernando City.

Armed with search warrants, operatives from the NBI-Ilocos Regional Office (NBI-IRO), together with PDEA and PNP conducted a joint operation in the said area.

PDEA operatives seized illegal drugs and drug paraphernalia while the NBI-IRO seized six drums and four big plastic containers with petroleum products. The suspects are now under the custody of PDEA for their involvement in the illegal drug trade.

The NBI-IRO is now completing the necessary documentation preparatory to the filing of proper cases against the suspects for violation of Batas Pambansa Blg. 33 otherwise known as An Act Defining and Penalizing Certain Prohibitive Acts Inimical to Public Interest and National Security Involving Petroleum Products.
