BALANGA CITY, Bataan – About 12 overseas Filipino workers (OFWs) received livelihood assistance from the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) Bataan under the “Pangkabuhayan sa Pagbangon at Ginhawa” (PPG).

PPG is a livelihood seeding and entrepreneurship development program for micro-enterprises that prioritizes areas affected by fire incidents and other calamities, including armed conflicts and health disasters.

DTI Provincial Director Nelin Cabahug said the livelihood kits consist of the mixed sari-sari store and bigasan (rice store) package, each worth P10,000.

It will help distressed OFWs recover from the financial losses during the pandemic and start their own businesses.

“We hope that you will utilize these livelihood kits in order to generate more income from your businesses,” Cabahug told the recipients.

Before awarding the livelihood kits, DTI capacitated the beneficiaries through seminars to help them start and manage their own businesses.

DTI Bataan will award 417 more livelihood kits to displaced individuals in the province under the PPG program this October.
