Young ma slaughtered, ‘raped’ in CamNorte home
Head almost cut off, arm chopped
A 23-YEAR-OLD mother was found butchered and believed sexually-molested in her home in Sta. Elena, Camarines Norte.
The Sta. Elena Municipal Police Station identified the victim as Anna Carmella Soterio, of Purok 1, Poblacion, Sta. Elena town.
Anna Carmella’s hand was chopped off and her head almost separated from her body.
Police theorized she was raped before she was killed after she was found with no undergarment.
Soterio’s sister, Jasmin, discovered the tragic death of Anna Carmella at 7:40 a.m. on Tuesday.
Their mother said they were about to wake Anna Carmella up to buy construction materials when no one answered their call.
The mother and the victim’s sister decided to enter the house and were shocked to see Anna Carmella dead and mutilated.
Beside the victim was her 4-year-old daughter, who was then sleeping.
During investigation, it was found out that the victim’s wallet containing P10,000 in cash was missing.
Town police chief Maj. Kim Lawrence Arenas said the victim could have known the suspect , who might be harboring a grudge against her, to do such a gruesome crime.
An investigation is ongoing.
