A WOMAN who was reported missing since April 15 on Saturday was found dead and buried in a vacant lot at the back of their house in Norzagaray, Bulacan.

Norzagaray police chief Lt. Col. Cris Cordero identified the victim as Rowena Conda, a resident of the town.

The suspect was Rowena’s own husband Jerwin Conda.

Cordero said Rowena went missing since April 15 but was reported only to the police last April 26.

The official said the 5-year-old son of the couple was the one who led authorities to the “burial site.”

According to the child, her mother was buried in a vacant lot at the back of their house.

“Sa pag-iimbestiga namin, nakapagsalita ang bata na si mama niya raw ay nandoon sa lupa,” Cordero said.

Probers went to the area pinpointed by the boy.

“Tinignan nila ‘yon at medyo malambot ‘yung lupa. At ‘yon nga, noong hinukay nila ay nakita nila and isang tarpaulin, plastic na noong kanilang buksan ay positively na ang biktima ang nandoon. Matagal na palang ibinaon ang kanyang bangkay,” the town police chief added.

Jerwin surrendered to the police last Saturday and admitted to killing his wife.

The suspect said he and his wife had a heated argument on April 15 after Rowena got jealous of another girl.

While quarreling, Jerwin said Rowena grabbed a knife and threatened to kill him.

The husband said he lost control of himself and choked Rowena until she died. He said he buried his wife in their backyard.

Parricide charges are being readied for filing in court against the suspect.
