A 32-YEAR-OLD truck driver was shot dead by a lone gunman while sitting on the driver’s seat of his six-wheeler truck parked along C-3 Road Sunday evening in Caloocan City.

Police investigators are not discounting the possibility that the killing of the truck driver of Jamdi Trucking Services and resident of Baseco, Port Area, Manila, was related to “drugs” after his co-workers revealed to the authorities that he was involved in “using illegal drugs”.

In his report to Caloocan Police Chief P/Col. Samuel Mina, Case investigator P/Cpl. Niño Nazareno Paguirigan said the victim was sitting in the driver’s seat of his Dayun tractor head truck parked along C3 Road, Bgy. 28, at around 8:30 p.m. when his co-workers, both stay-in truck drivers, noticed an unidentified man wearing a black jacket and denim pants approached the victim and shot him thrice in the head and neck, killing him instantly.

Col. Mina said Northern Police District (NPD) Forensic Unit team led by P/Maj. Divina Funelas recovered 14 plastic sachets of shabu from the victim’s pocket, while several drug paraphernalia and a sachet of shabu were also found inside the truck.

Three pieces of empty shells for a still unknown type of firearm were also recovered from the crime scene, which will be submitted to NPD Crime Laboratory for ballistic examination.

Operatives of Caloocan Police Sub-Station-1 led by P/Lt. Ivan Rinquejo immediately conducted a follow-up operation, but they failed to identify and arrest the suspect.
