Tanauan celebrates International Day of Persons with Disabilities

TANAUAN City – In conjunction with the celebration of “International Day of Persons with Disabilities” (PWD), with the theme “Leadership and participation of persons with disabilities towards an inclusive, accessible and sustainable post-COVID-19 World,” the Tanauan City government the other day provided, in accordance with the directive of Mayor Mary Angeline ‘Sweet’ Halili, kilos of rice to each of the 2,800 registered PWDs in Tanauan City.

This program aims to remind and show the PWDs that they have equal rights in the social, economic, cultural and political aspects. It also aims to strengthen support for them in this time of the pandemic.

The said assistance was distributed through the Persons with Disability Affairs Office headed by Garry M. Pecayo. It was also attended by Vice Mayor Atty. Junjun Trinidad as well as Councilor Czylene T. Marqueses. With Juvy Anne Soque/CIO-Tanauan
