THE Special Investigation Task Group Degamo on Tuesday held its 9th case conference aimed at threshing out more details needed to support the filing of criminal charges against the suspects in the killing of Negros Oriental Governor Roel R. Degamo and nine others last March 4.

According to Philippine National Police Public Information Office chief Brigadier General Redrico A. Maranan, the SITG Degamo headed by PNP Director for Investigation and Detective Management Major Gen. Eliseo DC Cruz convened to discuss the progress of the investigation into the brutal attack wherein gunmen were seen shooting at Gov. Degamo and the other victims acted as if they were dogs or chickens.

He said that the SITG convened anew to review the updates and status of the investigation into the case with the PNP Forensic Group and the National Bureau of Investigation working closely to gather all necessary evidence to support the filing of complaints for multiple murder against the accused led by suspended Negros Oriental Representative Arnolfo ‘Arnie’ Teves.

Another Senate inquiry on the matter was scheduled to be held on.

Eleven suspects have already been identified in connection with the killing of Gov. Degamo, including Marvin Miranda, a former bodyguard of Rep Teves who was previously named as one of the masterminds in the murder case and is believed to be hiding in Timor Leste.

“We assure the public that we will leave no stone unturned in our pursuit of justice for Governor Roel Degamo and the other victims. The PNP, together with our partner agencies, will continue to work tirelessly to uncover the truth and hold those responsible accountable for their actions,” said PNP chief, General Benjamin C. Acorda Jr.
