Sara Shuns debates, to focus on campaign
IT’S final, vice presidential candidate Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte is not joining the debate sponsored by the Commission on Elections (Comelec).
In an interview after a campaign sortie in Paranaque, Mayor Sara said her campaign will only focus on meet and greet with some sectors and groups as well as grand rallies.
“I’ve already decided that I will do the campaign without joining the debates,” she said.
The Comelec has set the vice presidential debates on March 20.
“Iniiwan ko na po yan sa lahat ng ating kababayan ang pag desisyon sa pagpili nila sa vice president na ganito po ang aking direksyon sa kampanya,” she added.
Mayor Sara, the chairman of Lakas-CMD and Hugpong ng Pagbabago (HNP), is topping surveys for vice presidency.
“Well kung magbago man o hindi, we will let you know but as of this very moment that decision is to conduct this campaign without joining debates,” she said.
In her speech, Mayor Sara said she and her running mate Bongbong Marcos Jr. is pushing for unity which is the key to progress and better governance.
She said once elected into office, she will continue the programs of President Rodrigo Duterte, especially the fight against criminality and anti-illegal drugs.
“Iyan ang gusto ng lahat, ang mapayapang pamumuhay hindi lang po dito sa ating bansa but sa buong mundo and yan po ang commitment ng UniTeam,” she said.
