SINABI ni Magsasaka Party-list Rep. Argel Cabatbat na hindi na siya nagtaka kung bakit may atake kay Executive Secretary Vic Rodriguez.

Aniya ang ginagawang pag-atake sa executive secretary ni Pangulong Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. ay normal lamang lalo’t naninindigan si Rodriguez na gawin ang dapat sa pamahalaan.

“Talagang ‘yan naman ang trabaho ng ES, to take the hit – H I T – and take the heat – H-E-A-T. So dapat talaga he should step up and expect na mangyayari iyan,” ani Cabatbat.

Kamakailan ay kumalat ang balitang nagbitiw na bilang ES si Rodriguez, bagay na agad pinabulaan nito nang harapin ang mga miyembro ng Malacañan Press Corps sa Palasyo ng Malakanyang nitong Biyernes ng tanghali.

“I’m just here. I hardly go out of my office, probably that’s one. I don’t know how the rumor started,” ani Rodriguez.

Naniniwala si Cabatbat na hindi kasama ang puwesto ni Rodriguez para sa tinatawag na 100 day-honeymoon period dahil bilang “little president,” natural na sa kaniya ibaling ang mga hindi nakukuhang pabor mula sa bagong pamahalaan.

Binigyang-diin ni Cabatbat na sila sa hanay ng sektor ng Magsasaka ay nakasuporta at nagtitiwala sa kakahayan ni Rodriguez bilang ES, lalo’t mismong si PBBM din ang kasalukuyang sekretaryo ng Department of Agriculture.

“As the President of the country and at the same time acting as the Secretary of the Department of Agriculture, these gargantuan tasks would require all the help and proper guidance from his advisers. Everyone in the Office of the President has to step up, particularly the Executive Secretary,” ani ng kongresista.

Sinabi nitong si Rodriguez na mula sa private sector ay walang rekord ng korapsiyon.

“The President must have the right reasons to trust Vic Rodriguez,” ani Cabatbat.

“For as long as it is everyone’s concern, the country’s interest is the concern of everyone. Wala dapat tayong dahilan para magaway-away,” pagtatapos pa nito.
