BATAAN Congressman Abet Garcia, Mayor Jopet Inton of Hermosa and businessman Goody Ilagan attended the recent Asian Financial Forum (AFF) in Hong Kong.

Bent on turning his town into an economic hub, Mayor Inton said they discussed global trends for the development of financial services during the forum.

Inton reported at the AFF Hermosa is now ready to host locators together with the Authority of the Freeport Area of Bataan, now headed by Mohammed Hussein Pangandaman. Pangandaman has been courting various locators abroad to invest in AFAB.

Congressman Garcia was the architect for the conversion of the then bankrupt Bataan Economic Zone into what is now called AFAB, the fastest growing freeport zone in the country.

A successful businessman, Ilagan owns the Camaya Coast, a 500-hectare land enclaving commercial and residential communities, designed for recreation and economic activities.

Inton said this will help in pushing for business opportunities and investors for the further economic development of Hermosa in particular and Bataan in general.

AFF is a “unique matchmaking session that connects sources of funds with sources of deals, where investors and projects converge, enabling participants to meet with potential business partners from around the world.”

It “showcases innovative offerings and game-changing solutions from fintech firms, startups and investment agencies,” as it “connects sources of funds with sources of deals via one-to-one business matching meeting.”
