THE Eigenmanns came in full force on the first night of the wake on March 4 of multi-awarded actress Jaclyn Jose, erstwhile partner of the late Mark Gil (Ralph Eigenmann) and mother to actress Andi Eigenmann.

Jaclyn was already cremated, so it was only her urn that was displayed on the well-decorated ledge inside one of the rooms at Arlington Memorial Chapels in Quezon City. The wake will be until March 9 (Saturday).

It was Jaclyn’s sister and former actress, Veronica Jones, who handed over the urn to Andi before the latter placed it on the ledge that teemed with beautiful, white blooms.

From veteran couple Eddie Mesa and Rosemarie Gil, the Eigenmann family was present in the wake. Michael de Mesa was there. So were Sid Lucero (Timmy Eigenmann), Gabby Eigenmann, Ryan Eigenmann and Max Eigenmann.

Showbiz celebrities who are dear friends of Jaclyn, fondly called Jane by those close to her (Mary Jane Guck was her real name), were present, too.

There were veterans Christopher de Leon and his wife, Sandy Andolong, Lorna Tolentino, Amy Austria, Tirso Cruz III, Sylvia Sanchez, Isabel Rivas, Jean Saburit, Laarni Enriquez, Allen Dizon and director Adolf Alix, Jr.

Direk Adolf worked with Jaclyn in Donsol in 2006. That film brought them close together. He directed her again in Pieta, supposed to be an entry to the Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF) last December.

Even young stars who became close to Jaclyn, showed up in her wake. An emotional Claudine Barretto was comforted by Andi. Alden Richards, Ivana Alawi and Jake Ejercito, Andi’s former boyfriend and father of her eldest, Ellie.

Every night, companies who worked with Jaclyn in the past, will pay tribute to her – from GMA 7 and ABS-CBN to Viva Films and even her management company, PPL Entertainment.

Jaclyn has three projects in the can for this year. Aside from Pieta, which topbills Nora Aunor, Gina Alajar and Alfred Vargas, Jaclyn will also be in Joey Romero’s film, Sigaw sa Magdamag, with Monsour del Rosario and Zoren Legaspi.

She will also be seen in a series, “Sellblock,” with Jericho Rosales.

Jaclyn is the only Southeast Asian who bagged best actress honors at the 69th Cannes Film Festival in 2016 for her award-winning turn as a mom and shabu dealer in Brilliante Mendoza’s Ma’ Rosa.

She bested Hollywood actresses Marion Cotillard, Kristen Stewart and Charlize Theron.
