Redeveloped ‘Paraiso ng Batang Maynila’ Park opens

MANILA Mayor Maria Sheila “Honey” Lacuna-Pangan and Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) Acting Chairman Atty. Don Artes led the inauguration of the redeveloped Paraiso ng Batang Maynila Phase 2 Monday evening in Malate, Manila.

Mayor Lacuna-Pangan and Atty. Artes were joined by Vice Mayor Yul Servo Nieto, MMDA General Manager Ret. P/Col. Procopio Lipana, 5th District Cong. Irwin Tieng and City Engineer Arman Andres in the ribbon cutting ceremony and unveiling of the marker that signaled the opening of the 2,047 square meters redeveloped Paraiso ng Batang Maynila.

The rehabilitation of the park was made possible through the “Adopt a Park Program” by the MMDA through its former chairman and now Local Government Secretary Atty. Benjamin Abalos Jr.

The playground park contained a 200 meters jogging path, benches, landscaping, and different types of light to entertain the park goers at night.

“Ang redevelopment po ng Paraiso ng Batang Maynila ay kasama sa Adopt-a-Park Program na bahagi ng I Love Metro Manila Campaign ng MMDA kung saan ang atin pong layunin ay ayusin ang mga open spaces at i-develop po sa parke para ng sa gayon ay mapakinabangan ng ating mga kababayan, lalung lalu na ng ating mga kabataan at mga senior citizen kung saan meron silang lugar para ma-enjoy yung kalikasan,” Atty. Artes said in his speech.

Mayor Lacuna-Pangan, in her speech, expressed her heartfelt gratitude to the MMDA for allocating P20 million funds for the project.

Mayor Lacuna-Pangan also took the opportunity to appeal to everyone, especially to barangay officials in the area, to be part of maintaining the beauty, orderliness, and cleanliness of the Paraiso ng Batang Maynila.
