Mayor Lacuna, MPD chief laud cops over arrest of drug courier
MANILA Mayor Honey Lacuna-Pangan and Manila Police District (MPD) Director P/BGen. Andre P. Dizon commended police officers who arrested a notorious drug pusher and confiscation of almost P11 million worth of illegal drugs yesterday morning at the Manila City Hall.
Among those who were given a commendation by Mayor Honey and the so called “The Game Changer General” were P/Lt Col. Melvin Florida, the chief of the MPD Drug Enforcement Unit (DEU), P/Lt Roberto Mupas, Commander of Barbosa Police Station 14, and their men, who conducted a drug sting operation last March 30 at Rm. l4, B4, Bahay sa Ciudad, in Bgy. 391, Quiapo.
BGen. Dizon and Lt. Col. Florida also presented to Mayor Lacuna-Pangan the arrested suspect identified as Salahudin Baumal, alias “Kulot’, 26, of Brgy. Rosario, Pasig City, who handed a pack of shabu to an undercover cop in exchange for P36,000 marked money.
Police recovered from Baumal more or less 1,750 grams of shabu with standard drug price of P11,900,000, a digital weighing scale, a bundle of plastic sachets used in repacking illegal drugs, and the marked money.
The two officials also expressed their gratitude to the officers and men of MPD-DEU and Barbosa Police Station 14 for the successful and peaceful drug bust operation resulting in the arrest of the suspect and confiscation of more than P11 million worth of shabu.
“So tuloy-tuloy lang po tayo, maliit, malaki na huli, siyempre mas maganda yung malaki kasi hindi na nila maikakalat pa, so, good job, good job, continue, maraming-maraming salamat po sa inyo,” Mayor Honey told the police officers who received a commendation. Edd Reyes/Jonjon Reyes
