THE Makati City Prosecutor’s Office has scheduled the preliminary investigation on the charges filed against Gwyneth Chua aka ‘Poblacion Girl,’ the female balikbayan who allegedly skipped mandatory quarantine after a US trip and later tested positive for COVID-19.

The prosecutor’s office has set the preliminary investigation on February 7 and February 14, it was gathered on Wednesday.

Aside from Chua, facing charges for violation of Republic Act 11332 or the Mandatory Reporting of Notifiable Diseases and Health Events of Public Health Concern Act are Allan Chua and Gemma Leonardo-Chua (her parents); boyfriend Rico Atienza, and five (5) employees of Berjaya Hotel.

Under the rules imposed by the Inter-Agency Task Force for the Management of Emerging Infectious Diseases (IATF), inbound passengers, like Chua, should undergo mandatory quarantine in government-designated facilities.

Initial police investigation showed that Chua’s father fetched Gwyneth from the Berjaya Makati Hotel shortly after checking in on Dec. 22, 2021.

Chua attended parties in two restaurants in Poblacion, Makati on December 23, and returned to Berjaya on December 25 accompanied by her mother.

When her RT-PCR test came back on December 26, Chua tested positive for COVID-19.
