THE Philippine Red Cross on Monday reminded the public to take extra precaution amid the rising COVID-19 cases, with 100,000 active cases and the detection of the first case of the Lambda coronavirus variant.

Sen. Richard J. Gordon, PRC chairman and CEO, reminded the public anew to practice protective measures at all times.

“Always wear a mask; I recommend that you double mask especially when you are in crowded areas, observe proper social distancing, wash/ disinfect your hands regularly, and stay at home as much as possible,” he said.

At the same time, Gordon also stressed that getting vaccinated is still the way to reach the country’s goal of herd immunity.

“Vaccines work, and vaccines continue to save lives every day. The best way to protect yourselves, your loved ones, and your community is by getting vaccinated,” he said.
