PHILIPPINE Red Cross (PRC) volunteers and staff have been working tirelessly on the ground to provide assistance to the affected families in various evacuation centers.

On Thursday, PRC food trucks made their way to Bariw Elementary School and Bariw National High School, serving hot and nourishing meals to 937 evacuees. PRC welfare desks also conducted “Child-Friendly Space” activities and provided psychological first aid to take care of the evacuees’ mental well-being.

PRC water tankers were on the move, ensuring that clean water reached evacuation centers and communities in need. On Friday, June 23, 2023, PRC delivered 55,000 liters of water to Mauraro High School, Guinobatan Community College, Sto. Domingo Central School, San Jose Elementary School, Sitio Sojoton, and Bical in the Municipality of Sto. Domingo, Albay. This significant effort benefited a total of 4,866 families.

Clean water is essential for maintaining hygiene, preventing the spread of diseases, and ensuring the overall health of individuals in emergency situations.

PRC aims to address this critical need and help alleviate the challenges the affected families face in accessing clean and safe water.

“None of this would be possible without the unwavering support of the amazing volunteers and generous donors,” PRC said.

“Your contributions make a tremendous impact on the lives of those affected by the volcanic eruption. We will keep you updated on our ongoing relief efforts. Thank you for your trust in the Philippine Red Cross,” it concluded.
