THE Parañaque Integrated Terminal Exchange (PITX) gears up to ensure the security and safety of more than 1.2 million passengers before and after Holy Week.

“The expectation of more than a million passengers stemmed from the observation that passengers will travel earlier to avoid the Holy Week exodus within the metro, with this, we are prepared [to ensure] the commuting public’s welfare through the Oplan Biyaheng Ayos: Semana Santa 2023,” said Jason Salvador, Corporate Affairs and Gov’t Relations Head of PITX.

“Oplan Biyaheng Ayos: Semana Santa” is an initiative together with the various government agencies such as the Department of Transportation (DOTr), Metro Manila Development Authority (MMDA), Inter-Agency Council for Traffic (I-ACT), Land Transportation Office (LTO), Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB), Philippine National Police (PNP), and Red Cross-Parañaque Chapter.

“We have always been steadfast in providing immediate response to any issue that may arise together with the enforcement agencies of the government,” said Salvador.

DOTr Malasakit Help Desk (MHD) will be set up starting April 1 at the main entrance (Entrance 2) of the terminal. Manning the desk are representatives of DOTr, I-ACT, LTO, LTFRB, MMDA.

Red Cross Parañaque Chapter is deploying Emergency Medical Technicians in cases needing basic life support. PNP is also doing 24-hour mobile patrol, with additional K-9 units to further heighten security measures around the area.

Moreover, LTO will inspect all PUVs (public utility vehicles) are road worthy and the drivers are in good condition physically and mentally to serve the public, free from being under the influence of liquor and prohibited drugs.

“We are also working closely with bus companies and transport operators to ensure connectivity and the sufficiency of trips and transport options for all passengers,” Salvador added.
