CABANATUAN CITY — The Philippine Health Insurance Corporation (PhilHealth) in Central Luzon is expanding its “PhilHealth-Konsulta package” with some 270 public and private Konsulta facilities now accredited and ready to provide primary care services to all its members in the region.

Edgardo F. Faustino, PhilHealth Region 3 acting vice president, said at least 911,644 members were already assigned to their preferred PhilHealth facilities under the agency’s Konsulta (Konsultasyong Sulit at Tama) package where they can avail of benefits and services such as consultations, medical check-up, health screening and assessment, laboratory tests, and maintenance medicines.

Faustino made the announcement during the regional office’s PhilHealth @28 “Media Kapihan and Pasasalamat” program, which was held at the Orchid Gardens in San Fernando City, Pampanga last February 22.

Also present during the event were assistant branch managers Dr. Rowena Z. San Mateo and Arlan M. Granali; Health Care Delivery Management Division chief Dr. Cheryl Acejo; Accreditation and Quality Assurance Section .head Dr. Analee Reyes, and Public Affairs Unit head Monifer S. Bansil.

During the media forum, Dr. San Mateo reiterated the importance for members to avail of the PhilHealth Konsulta package for immediate access of primary care services for early detection, diagnosis and case management.

“Dito po sa Konsulta package, kung magpaparehistro dito ang ating mga miyembro, kung bukol palang (ang sakit) ma-de-detect na agad at ma-screen. Para sa lahat ito, may nararamdamang sakit o wala, may maintenance medicine o wala,” San Mateo said.

Marvy T. Robledo, Cabanatuan City local health insurance office head, told the Journal Group that the agency has also partnered with local government units so that qualified indigent members can avail of free monthly premium payments.

He said this is possible if a certificate of indigency would be issued by the concerned barangay chairman to the availing member, with concurrence from the local Department of Social Welfare and Development office.
