NANINDIGAN si Pangulong Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. na hindi kailanman manahimik at magbulag-bulagan ang Pilipinas kaugnay sa tumitinding tensyon sa West Philippine Sea (WPS).

Sa presentation of credentials ni Japanese Ambassador to the Philippines Endo Kazuya, sinabi ng Pangulo na kailangan makahanap ng paraan para makamit ang regional peace at makaresponde sa aktuwal na sitwasyon sa WPS.

“When it comes to foreign policy and that we analyze geopolitics, this is the most important thing that we must find a way to keep it (WPS) at peace. That is what the Philippines will always work for,” pahayag ni Pangulong Marcos.

“However, we also have to respond to the actual situation on the ground. They cannot cover our eyes and pretend that nothing happened,” dagdag ng Pangulo.

Ayon kay Pangulong Marcos, mahalaga ang tulong ng Japan hindi lamang sa equipment kundi maging sa training, lalo na kung suportado rin ng Australia, United States at South Korea.

Isa lang naman aniya ang layunin sa WPS: ang masiguro na mayroong freedom of navigation at trade ang mga Pinoy.
