PBBM names new chief state counsel

FORMER Office of the Solicitor General (OSG) lawyer Dennis Arvin Chan was appointed by President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. (PBBM) as the new chief state counsel of the Department of Justice (DOJ), according to an announcement by the Presidential Communications Office (PCO).

Chan, a long-time partner at the Bernardo Placido Chan & Lasam (BPCL) Law Firm and former associate solicitor at the OSG, began his legal career at Fortun Narvasa & Salazar Law Offices before joining the Kalaw Sy Vida Selda & Campos Law Offices, where he handled election and intellectual property cases.

He has an extensive experience in cases involving immigration, naturalization, labor, intellectual property, corporate compliance and governance, estate planning, and real estate.

His appointment was announced along with the appointment of 16 other officials to various government posts.
