THE City Government of Pasay has partnered with shopping center chain SM to build one of the biggest vaccination centers in the Philippines.

Pasay Mayor Emi Calixto-Rubiano said the huge facility will feature a drive-through section to accommodate as many patients as possible.

Given the sheer size of the vaccination center, the city might need the help of medical workers from other cities to maximize its use, she added.

She said the vaccination center will be open to everyone and will not just be for the exclusive use of local residents.

Rubiano said the facility is designed to have sufficient space and fitted with air-conditioning system and TV sets for the public’s convenience while waiting for their turn to be vaccinated.

She also reported that the city is done vaccinating the first batch composed of medical health workers numbering 42,266, but the vaccination was halted for the past seven days as the next batch of vials has yet to arrive, even as they already started inoculating the elderly and people with comorbidities.

Rubiano, however, vowed to immediately resume the vaccination once the supplies arrive this next week.
