Over 9K health protocol violators accosted in Laguna

Some 9,657 violators were accosted during the implementation of minimum health protocols to prevent the transmission of the COVID-19 while Laguna is under the enhanced community quarantine (ECQ).

Laguna Police Provincial Director PCol. Serafin Petalio II reported to Calabarzon Regional Director PBGen. Eliseo DC Cruz that the Laguna police recorded 32 violators who were undertaking community service; 162 violators who were imposed fines and penalties; and 9,463 violators who were warned for breaching the minimum health protocols.

The report showed that on Tuesday the Laguna police conducted an operation against violators of the health protocols in relation to the ECQ which resulted in the apprehension of 9,657 offenders Laguna-wide.

The offenders were caught violating curfew hours, not wearing or improper use of face mask and shield, engaged in mass gathering and not observing physical distancing.

The offenders were courteously approached by the apprehending officers while roaming in public places without wearing face masks or any type of face coverings.

The Laguna police warned and informed the violators regarding the provisions and guidelines of the ECQ and the related penalties, while some offenders undertook community service and some received an ordinance receipt with corresponding penalty or fine.
