THE National Wages and Productivity Commission, with its 16 Regional Tripartite Wages and Productivity Boards, will hold the 2022 National Productivity Conference on Nov. 10 in Manila, the Department of Labor and Employment announced yesterday.

NWPC chairperson and Labor Secretary Bienvenido Laguesma said this year’s theme “Inclusive Rebound: Leveraging Worker Engagement Towards Productivity Growth and Rewards” emphasizes the importance of worker engagement in facilitating digital transformation using human resource practices, and in boosting productivity and shaping the work world.

The whole-day conference will feature the following topics: Boosting Productivity and Worker Engagement in the Thriving Gig Economy; Steering Worker Engagement in Accelerating Digital Transformation; Optimizing Worker Engagement Practices Using Productivity Rewards System; and Transforming Labor Relations by Encouraging Higher Worker Engagement.

Micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs), labor and management representatives, including partners from the private and public sectors, are invited to attend the biennial activity which serves as a platform for information and ideas exchange on new and emerging events and issues to strengthen the link between wages and productivity.

Laguesma expressed optimism that the conference would jumpstart discussions and generate inputs from productivity champions and advocates for policy and program interventions that would support a more people-centric and inclusive labor market recovery strategy.

This hybrid event will be broadcasted live through the NWPC’s Official Facebook Page, with replays in the agency’s Official Youtube account.
