AGENTS of the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) confiscated wheat flour worth ₱1.3 million that bore fake trademark markings during separate raids in Manila and Quezon City.

The NBI acted on a search warrant for violations of Republic Act 8293 (Intellectual Property Code of the Philippines) Sections 155 (Trademark Infringement) and 168 (Unfair Competition) in relation to Section 170.

The raided establishments were Goldepost General Merchandising/Gold Post General Merchandise/Gouldpost in Main Street and Guidote Street, Bgy. 402 Zone 41 District IV, Sampaloc, Manila; Godsway Marketing/God’s Way Trading in No. 22 Biglang-awa Street, T.S. Cruz Subdivision, Bry. San Agustin, Novaliches, Quezon City; and Godsway Marketing/God’s Way Trading on Reynaldo Street, Josefina Village, Bgy. Nagkaisang Nayon, Novaliches, Quezon City.

The Philippine Foremost Milling Corporation filed the complaint, seeking investigation and enforcement actions to stop the proliferation and distribution of fake wheat flour that unfairly competes with Washington Gold Hard Wheat Flour.
