NAVOTAS City once again recorded the least number of new coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) cases per day among all local government units in the National Capital Region.

The city posted an average of 19 daily new cases from May 3 to 9, 2021. It is -32% lower than last week’s report of 33 cases per day.

According to the Octa Research Group, Navotas posted a 7.12 average daily attack rate (ADAR), the lowest in the entire region.

“We are glad to learn of such great news. Our sacrifices and hard work have paid off. We are grateful to our frontliners and employees for their dedicated service, as well as to each resident for their support and cooperation to our anti-COVID campaign,” Mayor Toby Tiangco said.

“Our fight against COVID is still long, especially now that the variant from India has entered our country. We need to protect the gains we have achieved by taking part in our vaccination program, obeying the community quarantine rules, and following the minimum health protocols. Let us stop this pandemic. Let us keep each other safe,” he added.

Last week, the Octa Research Group expressed the need for Metro Manila LGUs to reduce their ADAR to less than 10% per 100,000 population to move the region to moderate risk classification.

As of May 11, Navotas recorded 213 active cases, 10,063 recoveries, and 344 deaths.
