MWP, cohort fall in Navotas drug bust

AUTHORITIES arrested a no. 1 “most wanted person” (MWP) and his cohort, allegedly a notorious drug group member, in a buy-bust operation Friday before dawn in Navotas City.

Joint operatives of Navotas Police Station Drug Enforcement Unit (SDEU) led by P/Lt. Luis Rufo, Jr., Tactical Mobile Reaction Unit (TMRU), Police Sub-Station 2, and Navotas Police Intelligence Section arrested alyas “Imoy”, considered as rank no. 1 MWP in regional, district, and station level; and alias “Mucho”, an alleged member of “Legaspi Drug Group” in a drug sting operation along Judge Roldan St. Bgy. San Roque at around 12:20 a.m.

Navotas Police Chief P/Col. Dexter Ollaging said operatives seized from the suspects 4,300 grams of dried marijuana leaves worth P516,000, 17 grams of shabu valued at P115,600, marked money, a caliber .38 revolver, and a fragmentation grenade.

Ollaging said the seized firearm was turned over to Station Investigation and Detective Management Branch (SIDMB), while the hand grenade was turned over to Northern Police District-Explosive Ordnance Division (NPD-EOD) for proper disposition.

Charges of violation of RA 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act and RA 10591 or Comprehensive Law on Firearms and Ammunition, and RA 9516 or Illegal and Unlawful Possession of Explosive will be filed against the arrested suspects before the Navotas City Prosecutor’s Office.
