THE Maynilad Water Services, Inc. (Maynilad), through the National Irrigation Administration (NIA), has extended financial assistance to Bulacan farmers.

NIA Region 3 manager and concurrent OIC Deputy Administrator engineer Josephine Salazar received the support worth P5 million in a simple turnover ceremony at its office in Tambubong, San Rafael, Bulacan.

Maynilad’s donation was intended to the Bulacan Irrigation Management Office to be used for its El Niño mitigation program for Bulacan farmers.

The financial aid, according to NIA, strengthens the agency’s resilience to El Niño as it highlights the value of the Public-Private Partnerships (PPPs) in addressing climate-related concerns.

It also allows NIA to carry out various initiatives targeted at mitigating impacts of El Niño on water availability and agricultural productivity.

The NIA, under the leadership of Administrator Eduardo Eddie G. Guillen, values its collaborative relationship to its private sector partners in contributing to the aim of President Marcos Jr.’s food security and modernized Philippine agriculture.
