THE Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG) awarded the local government of Marikina of Seal of Good Local Governance ( SGLG) for its exemplary public service and good governance.

For achieving such prestigious award, the DILG turned over the P2.3 million incentive check to the local government unit (LGU) Marikina City which was personally handed by DILG-NCR Regional Director Maria Lourdes Agustin to Mayor Marcy during the awarding ceremony at the Marikina City Hall.

Agustin explained that the Seal of Good Governance is a recognition that symbolizes the commitment and dedication of local government units to adhere to the highest standards of governance.

In his acceptance speech, Mayor Marcy expressed gratitude to the DILG for recognizing the collective efforts of the city government of Marikina.

Mayor Marcy also thanked Agustin and the whole of the DILG for their support and guidance that helped the city achieve such recognition.
