Manila to distribute PWDs, solo parents monthly pay
THE monthly allowance for solo parents and persons with disability (PWDs) in Manila will be released by next week.
This was announced by Manila Department of Social Welfare (MDSW) Director Asuncion “Re” Fugoso during the conduct of another “Kalinga sa Maynila” for residents of Barangays 366 and 367 held yesterday at the corner of Oroquieta and Tecson Streets and Barangay 381 in Sta Cruz, covered by 2nd District of Tondo.
Each solo parent and PWDs will be given in full a total of P3,000 representing their P500 monthly allowance from January to June.
“Ok, good news po sa mga PWD at solo parents, bigyan n’yo lang po kami ng isang linggo at makaka-receive na po kayo ng inyo pong allowance, by next weekend po. Lahat ng mga schedule ay ipo-post namin sa FB page ng Manila Public Information Office (MPIO) at MDSW. Kung saan nyo po nakukuha dati, doon din nyo rin makukuha ang inyong allowance,” Director Fugoso said.
The MDSW chief also warned all those who are holding fake PWD and solo parent ID (identification card) being used for unlawful purposes to avail of huge discounts and other benefits.
“Hinihigpitan po natin yung mga humahawak po ng mga fake PWD ID at tsaka solo parent, hindi po yan biro kasi nagagalit na po ang mga malls at ang mga restaurant na nagrereport po ng mga fake ID at iyan po ay pinapupuntahan na po namin sa mga pulis, kakasuhan po ang lahat ng mga may hawak ng PWD na fake at solo parent ID,” Fugoso said.
Mayor Honey Lacuna-Pangan for her part said qualified PWDs and solo parents will be provided a genuine ID free of charge while unscrupulous individuals, posing as PWD usually paid P1,000 to P2,000 just to have fake ID.
