Manila hiring more medical professionals
THE city of Manila is strengthening its healthcare system amid the recent surge of coronavirus cases in the country by hiring more medical and health care professionals, with a call for those interested to apply but to make sure they have the heart for the job ahead.
Mayor Isko Moreno said that for the past two weeks, he already signed the appointment papers of 30 doctors, nurses and medical technologists who are badly needed these days.
The newly-hired medical personnel, Moreno said, are expected to reinforce the current number of medical frontliners serving the city and lessen the load of those presently deployed in the city-run hospitals.
“Kung gusto ninyong maglingkod sa bayan, we are hiring. We will not stop hiring to reinforce our medical institutions. Nais naming lalo pang palakasin ang ating mga ospital at nang hindi masyadong gastado ang mga health workers. Para maging maganda ang shifting ng mga doctor. Marami sa kanila pagod na pagod na but we cannot stop serving the people,” Moreno said.
The mayor said that while the city government welcomes applicants, he is calling on those intending to apply to make sure that they are willing to practice maximum understanding and tolerance toward the patients.
“Sana, bago kayo pumasok sa public service, pinauuna ko na, mahirap maglingkod sa taumbayan dahil umaasa sila ng mahabang pang-unawa. Di pwede nakasimangot, bumubulyaw o mapikon dahil tayo ay pagod na dahil mas pagod ang taumbayan emotionally, psychologically and physically. Higit sa lahat, economically,” Moreno said.
He stressed that in government service, the benefits are good, plus the fact that one is given the rare opportunity of being able to serve the people.
“Kailangan lamang nating habaan ang pasensiya at pang-unawa ang pairalin. Bago kayo pumasok sa pamahalaan, tanungin ninyo ang inyong sarili. Are you ready to serve? Because the people deserve better things from government,” Moreno stressed.
