Man arrested for gun, ammo during house search
A MAN was nabbed for possession of gun and ammunition after authorities searched his house on the strength of a search warrant Saturday in Villa Italia Subd., Purok 2, Bgy. Kumintang Ilaya, Batangas City.
The search warrant was issued against the suspect by Judge Maria Cecilia I. Austria-Chua, of the Regional Trial Court Branch 2 of Batangas City for violation of Republic Act No. 10591, otherwise known as the “Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Act”.
Police recovered during the operation a sling bag, a black holster inserted with one cal. 45 Armscor with a serial number 1268990 inserted with a magazine loaded with six live ammunition, a magazine containing three live ammunition, anda coin purse containing nine live ammunition.
Meanwhile, Lipa City police said they also arrested a man for possession of a Colt cal. .45 without a serial number inserted with one magazine loaded with three live bullets Saturday in Bgy. San Carlos, Lipa City, Batangas.
According to police, the suspect allegedly held a firearm and threatened a woman during a heated argument.
