DEPUTY Speaker and Las Piñas City Representative Camille Villar has topped a recent survey of Metro Manila district representatives.

Results of the “Job Performance Ratings” of Metro Manila lawmakers conducted by the RP-Mission and Development Foundation, Inc. (RPMD) from February 25 to March 8 showed Villar at the top spot with a 92.3% rating.

“I am deeply honored by this recognition as it is an affirmation of our performance in the House of Representatives and the lone district of Las Piñas. I dedicate this to all my constituents,” said Villar as she welcomed the news.

The ranking House member added she will continue to push for socioeconomic programs for her constituents, focusing on education, livelihood, and employment generation, among others.

Villar, who was named “Government Hero of the Year” by the prestigious Stevie Awards in the United States last year, shared the top spot with Navotas Rep. Toby Tiangco (92.5%) and Caloocan 1st District Rep. Oscar Malapitan (92.1%).

Stevie Awards judges had recognized Villar under the COVID-19 response category for her remarkable work during the COVID-19 pandemic, which included a vaccine incentive program dubbed “May Bahay sa Bakuna” that awarded non-monetary packages to vaccinated Las Piñas folk, livelihood, and infrastructure programs in response to the pandemic.

“This survey will serve as our inspiration and guidepost to continue to work for the betterment of our constituents and communities,” said Villar.

The survey among district representatives in Metro Manila forms part of “Boses ng Bayan” nationwide survey, a comprehensive evaluation of the performance of elected public officials using face-to-face interviews.

A total of 10,000 respondents participated in the survey, with a margin of error of +/-1%.

In the same RPMD survey in Metro Manila, President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr., who serves as secretary of Agriculture, garnered a rating of 77%, while Vice President Sara Duterte, the Education secretary, got 75%.

The foundation said constituents appraised and ranked district representatives “based on representation, legislation, and constituent service.”
