Isko: Manila ready for Omicron variant
MANILA is ready for the Omicron variant.
Thus said Mayor Isko Moreno, as he announced that for the past wo weeks, the number of new COVID-19 cases in the city had been steadily declining in the city.
Moreno, Aksyon Demokratiko’s presidential bet, called on all Manilans to continue being vigilant and responsible, citing the surge of Omicron variant cases in more progressive countries like the United Kingdom, Israel and the United States, among others.
“As of today, patuloy ang malaking banta ng Omicron pero kahit paano ay handa ang lungsod ng Maynila kung sakaling magkaroon ng surge,” he assured.
Moreno said the continuing decline in the number of active, confirmed COVID cases in the city may be due to the swiftness of past actions that he and Vice Mayor Honey Lacuna have taken from Day 1 so as to arrest the growth of mass transmission at the height of the pandemic.
