THE authorities, through concerned offices and agencies, are focused on the problems of homelessness, squatting and poverty.

Last year, records show that the Pag-Ibig Fund released a record-high P126 billion in home loans to a total of 96,848 members.

The amount was seven percent higher than the P117.85 billion recorded in 2022, said Secretary Jose Rizalino L. Acuzar of the Department of Human Settlement and Urban Development (DHSUD).

In fact, it was the highest amount of home loans released during a single year in Pag-Ibig Fund’s 43-year history.

Through its Pambansang Pabahay Para sa Pilipino or 4PH Program, the government hopes to address the country’s homelessness problem.

Under the government’s socialized housing program, minimum wage and low-income members of Pag-Ibig Fund may of home loans.

It’s a move in the right direction.
