HELEN Gamboa- Sotto is one of the very few stars whom we consider a dear friend. Hindi siya plastik. It’s not hard to like Helen whom we met at the peak of her career as a Vicor recording artist and one of the highest paid actresses. She is the epitome of sweetness and kindness just like her niece Sharon Cuneta. We can’t remember an instance hearing her talk negatively about anybody.

She is most generous to a fault.

When the pandemic hit the country, Helen was the first to extend help. She even surprised me with a birthday gift, when I turned a new leaf recently, her way of saying ‘Tito (Sotto, her husband) and I’ care.

Thanking you is not enough to express my gratitude for being there when I needed you most. To quote a line from Pilita Corrales’ song… A Million Thanks To You, Helen.

Bashers want MTRCB chairman out.

THE MTRCB denounced the influx of threatening messages directed to Chairman Lala Sotto as posted by unidentified persons on there official Social Media page. The attacks are alarming and raises concern about the safety of Lala. Bashers also want the Chairman to resign.

It started after the board made public the decision to suspend for 12 airing days the noontime show it’s Showtime which the MTRCB cleared Sotto inhibit herself from.

The suspension stemmed for alleged complaints by concerned citizens over-supposed indecent acts of Vice Ganda and Ion Perez licking a cake in a segment of the show.

“I believe that me being a Sotto shouldn’t be taken against me… Instead should be taken positively since I grew up in love and I understand the industry. Bashing is not new to us and I’m unbothered.”

ABS-CBN filed a motion for reconsideration regarding the said suspension which was denied by MTRCB.

Erik ‘played on’ by his designer?

IT looked like staged to end all social events, the ABS-CBN Ball. Well-known designers exclusively dressed up the female stars which the males would swoon for. Their creation mostly revealed their sexy curves.

ALT-pop music act Carlo returns with his lo-fi tinged original titled “Paalam.” According to Carlo, the songs lyrics “not only talks about goodbyes but how it actually feels to let go of a person that you once loved.” Sure enough, there’s a lingering longing feeling when one listens to Carlo’s rendering of “Paalam” but there’s beauty as well.
