LARRY Gadon, despite being disbarred by the Supreme Court for misogynistic behavior, will continue serving as President Marcos’ adviser on poverty alleviation.

Executive Secretary Lucas Bersamin disclosed that Malacañang was fully aware of Gadon’s disbarment case, and revealed President Marcos’ confidence in Gadon’s ability to fulfill his responsibilities as a presidential adviser, despite the court’s ruling.

“We were aware of Sec. Gadon’s cases before the Supreme Court but the President felt that his work as presidential adviser will not get affected by his status as a lawyer. This is a matter which he will have to personally attend to,” according to Bersamin.

“He will continue on his new role as Presidential Adviser on Poverty Alleviation as there are urgent matters that need to be done in the President’s anti-poverty programs. The President believes he will do a good job,” he added.

The SC reached a unanimous decision to disbar Gadon due to his derogatory remarks about journalist Raissa Robles on social media.

The court considered Gadon’s video clip to be “undeniably scandalous, discrediting the legal profession.”

Gadon’s outrage was triggered by Robles’ tweet concerning Marcos’ tax conviction.
