THE Eastern Police District (EPD) has received donations from a non-government organization (NGO) for its outreach program to poor communities in the eastern part of Metro Manila badly affected by the pandemic.

Major Eric Cister of the EPD received the donated sacks of rice from the Malasakit Movement founded by Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) spokesperson Assistant Secretary Celine Pialago

The EPD said its men will repack the donations and will soon be distributed to the houses of identified beneficiaries.

“EPD would like to express our deepest gratitude to all our benefactors for continuously extending supports on all our plans and programs to better serve the community who are in need.”

On April 19, the EPD headed by director P/Brig Gen.Matthew Baccay opened its own community pantry. It is located right in front of its headquarters, which is along Caruncho Avenue in Pasig City.

The EPD pantry contains canned goods, instant noodles, face masks, face shields, Bible, PNP Journal Magazine among others.

“The EPD PaMaMariSan Pantry was inspired by the Maginhawa Community Pantry in Quezon City where people can donate and get items based on their needs.”

The EPD was pertaining to the community pantry opened by Ana Patricia Non on Maginhawa Street in Quezon City.
