SAN JOSE CITY – The Nueva Ecija Police dug up the skeletal remains of a suspected “summary execution” victim by the New People’s Army (NPA) in nearby Lupao town on Wednesday morning, it was reported.

In his report to Provincial Police director Col. Richard V. Caballero, Lt. Col. Robert R. Sta. Cruz, 2nd Provincial Mobile Force Commander (PMFC) said they discovered the remains in Sitio Palmasyan, Barangay San Isidro, Lupao at 9:00 a.m.

Caballero said the 2nd PMFC, the PIU-NEPPO, and 84th IB 7ID PA conducted a joint special intelligence operation on the location of the skeletal remains following revelations made by “Ka Bong,” a former member of CPP (Communist Party of the Philippines)/NPA as a platoon commander, unit guerilla member, and regional courier in Central Luzon from 1987 to 1996, who earlier surrendered to the 2nd PMFC way back 2021.

He said the skeletal remains were turned over to Nueva Ecija Provincial Forensic Unit (NEPFU) for proper disposition.

“We condone this merciless killing and wrongdoing of the CTGs [communist terrorist groups]. Hence, I ask them not to prey on our helpless populace and discontinue embracing their false ideology,” said Col. Caballero, adding that the operation was in line with the directive of Police Regional Office 3 (PRO3) Director Brig. Gen. Cesar D. Pasiwen to support and implement Executive Order (EO) 70 that institutionalizes the NTF-ELCAC (National Task Force to End Local Communist Armed Conflict) in the region.
