DTI heeds call for price freeze
In response to Senator Francis ‘Tol’ N. Tolentino’s call for Prize Freeze, the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) has released another list of products that will be subjected to a voluntary nationwide price freeze.
Announced on “Usapang TOL” on DWIZ, the following products are said to be included in the price freeze: Alaska condensed milk, Liberty condensada, Lucky me instant mami, Nido fortigrow, Bear brand powdered milk, Carnation evap, and Carnation condensada.
The voluntary price freeze for the said products will be in effect nationwide from May 16 until June 30, 2024.
Tolentino thanked DTI Secretary Alfredo Pascual for heeding his call.
It can be recalled that on 4 May 2024, Senator Tolentino urged the DTI to impose price control to ease the citizens’ burden because of El Niño and inflation.
