TO meet evolving levels of mobility, Department of Transportation (DOTr) Secretary Jaime J. Bautista emphasized big-ticket infrastructure projects that greatly impact passengers, making shorter travel times and providing convenient, safe, affordable travel.

The Transport secretary also invited private sector participation at these multi-billion peso projects during the Metro Pacific Tollways Corporation (MPT) Mobility Multi-stakeholder Dialogue — with the theme “Sustainable Mobility’s contribution to the overall Transport Plan” held at the Sheraton Hotel in Pasay, October 21, 2022.

Bautista emphasized the DOTr’s initiatives that will improve Filipino’s mobility, including the department’s priorities on integrated and intelligent mobility networks and public transportation in the country.

In this post-pandemic era, we are taking a sustained approach at promoting mobility for both ease of travel [and] efficient transport of goods,” Bautista said.

“Transport projects that advocates mobility are not restricted to the road sector. There are ongoing and planned projects in aviation, railways, and maritime that need our equal attention,” Bautista added.

In his closing remarks, Bautista announced that fast-tracking infrastructure projects and elevating transport systems will soon benefit the Filipino people.

“We are pushing the pedal to the metal at complying with President Marcos’ order to fast-track these transport infrastructure projects, so Filipinos can enjoy their benefits at the earliest possible time”.
