DEPARTMENT of Health Assistant Secretary and Infectious Disease Specialist Dr. Eric Tayag will talk about the current pandemic situation during the third Professional Sports Summit being organized by the Games and Amusements Board (GAB) on Sept. 29.

This year’s theme is “Professional Sports through the Pandemic, the Now and Future Directions”.

GAB Chairman Abraham “Baham” Mitra said the one-day summit will also focus on first-hand experiences, struggles and challenges of different stakeholders during the pandemic.

Also invited to join the summit are Sen. Pia Cayetano, Sen. Bong Go and Sen. Joel Villanueva and Cong. Jericho Nograles,

The summit will also showcase different sports leagues like the PBA (Eric Castro), 3×3 Chooks-to-Go (Mark Zambrano), NBL (Edward Aquino), WNBL (Rhose Montreal), Vismin Super Cup (Chino Trinidad), PVL (Ricky Palou), PCAP (Atty. Paul Elauria), PGTI (Mohamed Shariz), PFL (Atty. Edwin Gastanez), and Ironman Triathlon (Wilfred Uytengsu).

They will also share their experiences and challenges in promoting sports during this time.

Boxing promoters JC Mananquil, Charlemagne Marban III and Dante Almario will also be featured along with other boxing stakeholders.

Team Lakay coach Mark Sanguiao and ring officials Brembot Dulalas, Marlou Neri, Atty. Danrex Tapdasan and Nicholas Banal are also expected to attend.

The horse racing industry’s pandemic trials will also be discussed by Dino Lazatin and other horse racing managers.
