CIDG agents capture 3 CL’s most wanted men

THREE most wanted persons in Central Luzon were arrested by agents of the Philippine National Police Criminal Investigation and Detection Group in separate manhunt operations in the region,, PNP-CIDG director Maj.Gen. Romeo M. Caramat Jr. said yesterday.

The official identified the now jailed suspects as Jerry Rodriguez, 41; Mark Anthony Rosendo, 30; and Edward Batac,48. The first two are facing non-bailable rape charges while Batac is wanted for violation of Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.

Rodriguez was arrested in his hiding place in Bgy. San Rafael in Tarlac City by local CIDG officers on the strength of a warrant for two counts of rape issued by Judge Allene Peña of the Tarlac City Regional Trial Court.

Rosendo was apprehended in Zambales province by local CIDG operatives who were armed with a warrant for two counts of rape issued against the accused by Judge Gemma Theresa Hilario-Logronio of the Olongapo City RTC.

Batac was arrested in Bgy. Balibago in Angeles City on the basis of a warrant for sale and possession of prohibited drugs under RA 9165 issued by Judge Erick Sadural of the Angeles City RTC.

Caramat said that the arrest of the three were made in line with their stepped-up effort to account for most wanted persons in the country as ordered by PNP chief Gen. Benjamin C. Acorda
