THE Commission on Human Rights (CHR) has started conducting its own investigation into the murder of a community journalist inside his rented apartment in Davao del Sur last October 30.

“Currently, no motive for his killing has been established, but due to the nature of the crime and profession of the victim, CHR will be looking closely into his line of work and his previous contacts,” CHR spokesperson Jacqueline de Guia said.

An unidentified gunman on Saturday night shot and killed Orlando “Dondon” Dinoy.

Dinoy died on the spot due to multiple gun shot wounds. He was shot at close range.

Dinoy was a reporter for Newsline Philippines and a former correspondent of the Philippine Daily Inquirer.

Police investigators are still gathering information about the killer’s motive.
