Carpenter arrested for raping goddaughter
A 52-year-old carpenter who raped his 12-year-old goddaughter was arrested in a police operation conducted by the warrant section of the Alaminos police Friday morning in Sitio Tambakan, Bgy. 1 Poblacion, Alaminos, Laguna.
In a report submitted to Laguna Provincial Director PCol. Serafin Petalio II by P/Capt. Edwin Goyena, the Alaminos police chief said the arrested suspect is Ruel Bordeos Balitaan, resident of the said barangay.
Police said the suspect is the No. 6 most wanted person in the regional level for raping his minor goddaughter sometime this year.
He was arrested at about 6:10 a.m. during the police operation. His standing arrest warrant for the crime of rape was issued by Branch 7 Family Court in San Pablo City by Myla Villavicencio-Olan, the presiding judge.
Police also arrested four others during the operation.
No bail was recommended for the suspect who is now under the custody of the Alaminos police for proper disposition.
