PNP, PDEA nab 2 top drug dealers, seize P3.4M shabu
TWO top drug traffickers in Metro Manila, Calabarzon and Central Luzon regions were arrested by combined agents of the Philippine National Police (PNP) and the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) after they conspired to sell 500 grams of shabu worth P3.4 million to an undercover officer in Imus City in Cavite on Friday, PNP chief General Guillermo Lorenzo T. Eleazar said.
The top cop identified the two as Jeric Ramirez alias “Jam” and Analyn Aguirre alias “Lovely,” both tagged as members of a big-time drug trafficking gang operating in the National Capital Region and Regions 3 and 4-A.
According to the PNP chief, members of the PNP Drug Enforcement Group (DEG) headed by Brigadier Gen. Remus B. Medina arrested the duo during a buy-bust operation at the McDonald’s parking lot in Daang Hari in Imus City 4:30 p.m. Friday.
Officers from the DEG Special Operations Unit-NCR led by Lieutenant Colonel Glen C. Gonzales, the PDEA Regional Office 4-A and the Imus City Police Station conducted the joint operation.
Eleazar said recovered from the possession of the suspects were 500 grams of the so-called “poor man’s cocaine” valued at P3.4 million, the boodle money topped by several marked bills and a mobile phone used by the two in making the illegal drug transaction.
A Mitsubishi Adventure wagon they used in transporting the drugs was impounded by the PNP-DEG.
Both suspects are now undergoing investigation at the PNP-DEG headquarters in Camp Crame, Quezon City. They will be facing non-bailable criminal charges for sale and possession of prohibited drugs under Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002, said Eleazar.
“Ang inyong kapulisan katuwang ang PDEA ay hindi titigil sa pagtugis at paghuli ng mga sindikato ng iligal na droga bilang isa sa pinakapangunahing layunin ng ating Intensified Cleanliness Policy. Sa pamamagitan ng mas pinalakas at pinagtibay na ugnayan ng ating kumunidad at ating kapulisan, nakakasiguro akong kaya nating mapagtagumpayang sugpuin at wakasan ang paglaganap ng iligal na droga sa buong bansa,” the PNP chief said.
