Bulacan cops net 31 for illegal drugs, gambling

CAMP GEN ALEJO S SANTOS, City of Malolos, Bulacan – Six suspects involved in illegal drugs and 25 illegal gamblers on Monday were arrested in an intensified police operation in Bulacan.

Bulacan Officer-in-Charge (OIC) Police Director Col. Relly Arnedo said the implementation of a search warrant by CSJDM (City of San Jose Del Monte) Police in Bgy. Minuyan Proper, CSJDM, resulted in the arrest of a wanted drug suspect.

Recovered in operation were five sachets of shabu weighing approximately 5 grams.

A series of drug sting operations by the Station Drug Enforcement Unit (SDEU) of Meycauayan, Angat, and Guiguinto Police led to the arrest of five drug suspects.

Seized from them were 11 sachets of shabu and buy-bust money.

Meanwhile, stepped-up anti-illegal gambling operations were conducted in Sta. Maria and CSJDM, Bulacan, led to the arrest of four sabungeros for illegal cockfighting.

CSJDM police also arrested three for the card bet game “tong-its”; five for “cara y cruz”; and nine for billiards, and poker; while four were apprehended for “mahjong” in Sta. Cruz 1, CSJDM by 2nd PMFC.

Recovered in the operations were fighting cocks, gaffs (tari), a set of playing cards, coins used in cara y cruz, billiards sets, mahjong tile sets, and bet money in different denominations.
