THE Blu Boys are ramping up its preparation for the Softball World Cup set to start in Auckland, New Zealand late November up to early December.

The 21st ranked team in the world earned the slot after finishing second to powerhouse Japan in the last Asian Championships and will join 11 other qualifiers in the event.

“This is a good team, it is a good mix of veterans together young but very promising rookies coming from the the UAAP and different provinces,” said Amateur Softball Association of the Philippines (ASAPHIL) newly re-elected president and sports patron Jean Henri Lhuillier.

Sharing his thoughts on the team, Lhuillier says the critical factors are pitching, power, and speed both in running and batting , “we will try to address those concerns within the remaining time of our preparation. We will also send the team to Auckland a week earlier so they can play a few tune up games there.”

Lhuillier dropped by Manila Polo Club to watch the team practice under floodlights and shared inspirational words with the players in a team huddle.
