Bilibid holds 28th NaCoCo week with UPHSD medical mission

MUNTINLUPA CITY – Around 441 Persons Deprived of Liberty (PDL), mostly senior citizens and persons with disabilities (PWDs) of Medium Security Camp in Camp Sampaguita, New Bilibid Prison (NBP) in Muntinlupa City, benefited from the one-day medical mission of Perpetual Help Medical Center (PHMC) and University of Perpetual Help System Dalta (UPHSD) on Thursday, October 27, 2022, in celebration of 28th National Correctional Consciousness Week (NaCoCo) with this year’s theme: “Kalusugan Mo, Sagot Ko” held at College Building covered court here.

Acting Superintendent Chief Senior Inspector Abel Ciruela of the Medium Security Compound and Chief Technical Senior Superintendent Ma. Cecilia Villanueva MD, deputy director for the Directorate for Health and Welfare Services, welcomed the volunteer health care workers of PHMC in Las Piñas City and staff and students of UPHSD Las Piñas, Molino, and Calamba campuses who participated in the program.

“This project of your institution is very good for our PDLs, I am grateful for the leadership of the Bureau of Correction (BuCor). Thank you for your continued support from the Collegiate program here in Bilibid and medical services,” Ciruela said.

Nursing and dentistry students also conducted lectures on proper hygiene and disease prevention.

PDLs also received medicines, vitamins, and gift packs from Daisee’s Bake Shop, SM Foundation.
