Batangueño held for indiscriminate firing

AUTHORITIES arrested a man after illegally firing a gun in the vicinity of Bgy. Muzon, San Luis, Batangas, the other day.

San Luis Municipal Police Station (MPS) Chief PLT Geronimo R. Manalo identified the suspect as Sherwin Manabo Holgado.

A call was received by San Luis MPS around 4:16 p.m. from Florendo Holgado and Sangalang of Bgy. Muzon, and informing that his son Sherwin fired indiscriminately his firearms.

Manalo said that the responding policemen together with Bgy. Captain Emeterio Dimafelix and other village officials were approaching the elder Holgado’s house and they heard 4 successive gunshots in an instant.

In a full alert, the responding team proceeded directly where the gunshots came from and they saw a man holding a short firearm, another handgun, and some bullets on top of the table near the suspect.

Police also confiscated from the suspect’s possession were 1 brown Glock 19X, cal. 9mm loaded with 1 magazine, and the other police officer saw another firearm, a black Glock 26 Gen 5 cal. 9mm and 2 magazines loaded with 11 pieces of live ammunition, 6 pieces of fired cartridge casings, a Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) badge, 2 National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) badges, and a PDEA agent ID.

The suspect failed to present any documents to possess the seized items to the authorities.
