Aid pours in for Cavite City fire victims

CAVITE CITY – Help is still coming to the victims of the recent fire in Quadra, including the assistance of Senator Bong Go, Thursday at the Ladislao Diwa Elementary School (LDES) covered court in P. Burgos Street here.

The victims of the fire in Barangay 22M, 22A, and 28 in the so-called “Quadra” received an additional cash aid of P5,000 for each family that they can use in addition to their house construction.

The affected families earlier received P10,000 cash aid from the Office of Cavite 1st District Congressman Jolo Revilla.

Meanwhile, the Cavite City Council, led by Vice Mayor Raleigh Rusit, passed and approved City Resolution No. 2023-049, which will provide financial assistance for the fire victims during the special session held on April 27 at the request of Mayor Denver Chua.

Each family also received P20,000 from the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) under Secretary Rex Gatchalian for the beginning of their preparation for returning to their residence.

While the representatives of the town of General Trias City led by Mayor Luis Ferrer IV, Vice Mayor Jonas Labuguen, Imus City local government unit (LGU) under Mayor Alex Advincula, Noveleta LGU under Mayor Dino Chua, Trece Martires City represented by Vice Mayor Bobby Montehermoso extended assistance such as rice, groceries, and food packs.

Sen. Go also brought groceries, basketballs, volleyballs, shoes, and bikes and delivered a message of hope to affected families as they recovered from the fire tragedy.

Cavite City Mayor Denver thanked all those who extended help, especially cities and towns here in the province of Cavite.
